Why Old Glory Rising Is Unlike Any Other Project

There are plenty of ways to show love for this country, and we're grateful for every flag flown and every parade watched from a lawn chair. But every so often, a community gets the chance to build something that outlasts all of us—something our grandchildren's grandchildren will stand beneath. That's what Old Glory Rising is all about.

A Monument Unlike Any Other

When finished, Old Glory Rising will rise 700 feet into the Ozark sky as the world's tallest American flag monument. That's not a typo, and it's not an exaggeration—it's a height that will make this flag visible for miles across Southwest Missouri's rolling hills.

This isn't about building something big for the sake of being big. It's about creating a landmark so unmistakable that anyone who sees it—whether they're driving through on Route 60 or flying overhead—will know exactly what it means and whose ground they're on.

More Than a Monument—A Gathering Place

Unlike a flagpole standing alone in a field, this project includes a full community center and gathering grounds built around the monument itself. We envision Fourth of July celebrations, veteran homecomings, school field trips, and quiet evening walks all happening on this same hallowed ground.

This is a place designed to bring people together, not just a structure to look at from the highway. It's meant to be lived in, celebrated in, and remembered in.

Built to Last Generations

Many patriotic campaigns are seasonal—a float in a parade, a banner for a holiday weekend. Old Glory Rising is being engineered for permanence. This is a project meant to stand for a century or more, a physical promise that American gratitude doesn't fade with the calendar.

That kind of permanence requires real investment. The full project carries an estimated cost of approximately $51 million, a number that reflects the scale and durability of what we're building—not a quick weekend fundraiser, but a lasting legacy.

Everyone Has a Place in This Story

Big dreams are built brick by brick, and that's true here in the most literal sense. For $250, you can claim a commemorative brick that will become part of the monument grounds forever—your family name, a veteran's service, or a quiet thank-you etched into the foundation of something eternal.

A monument this size isn't raised by a handful of donors. It's raised by a community saying yes, together, one brick at a time.

Right now, our immediate focus is Phase 1, with a goal of $250,000 to get the ground work, planning, and early construction moving. Every pledge, every brick, and every shared post brings that first milestone closer.

A few honest notes as we build this together:

  • Our nonprofit status is still being finalized
  • Right now, pledges are considered expressions of support rather than final tax-deductible gifts
  • Tax-deductibility will apply once nonprofit status is finalized
  • We'll keep this community updated at every step of that process

Why This Matters Right Now

We live in a time when it's easy to feel divided, distracted, or discouraged. Old Glory Rising is a chance to point to something bigger than any one of us—a shared symbol built by shared hands, rising from Ozark soil that so many veterans and families already call home.

This project combines scale, community, permanence, and purpose in a way few campaigns ever attempt. That's not by accident—it's by design, and it's why we believe this is worth doing right.

If this vision speaks to something in you, we'd love for you to be part of it. Learn More about how you can stand with us as we raise this flag together.
