What Will Old Glory Rising Mean in 2126?

Picture a morning a century from now. The sun rises over the Ozark hills, and the world's tallest American flag catches the first light, just as it has every day since the ground was broken. That is the promise of Old Glory Rising — not just for us, but for generations we will never meet.

A Monument Built to Outlast Us

Most things we build are made for our own lifetimes. Old Glory Rising is different. At 700 feet, it is designed to stand as a lasting symbol of American gratitude, long after the hands that raised it are gone.

In 2126, the families visiting these grounds may not remember who first dreamed up this project. But they will feel what every visitor feels today: a quiet pride, a reminder that freedom was purchased dearly and is worth protecting.

A Gathering Place for a Hundred Years of Ozark Life

Southwest Missouri has always been a place where neighbors show up for one another — at church suppers, county fairs, and homecoming parades. The community center and gathering grounds at Old Glory Rising are meant to carry that spirit forward for a hundred years and beyond.

  • Veterans reunions and remembrance ceremonies
  • Fourth of July celebrations under the flag's shadow
  • School field trips teaching the story of American sacrifice
  • Weddings, reunions, and quiet family visits

These grounds are meant to hold a century of Ozark memories — births celebrated, loved ones honored, and vows exchanged beneath a flag that never comes down.

A Living Tribute to Those Who Served

At the heart of this project is a simple truth: freedom is not free, and it should never be taken for granted. Every veteran who has worn the uniform, every family who has sent a loved one into harm's way, deserves a place where their sacrifice is honored in a way that matches its weight.

A flag flown at 700 feet does not just honor the past. It stands watch over the future.

In 2126, the names and stories connected to this ground will still matter. That is why commemorative bricks — each one $250 — are being laid now, so that family names, veteran names, and words of gratitude become part of the permanent landscape.

Built Brick by Brick, Generation by Generation

No monument of this scale rises overnight, and no community built it alone. Old Glory Rising is being constructed step by step, starting with a Phase 1 goal of $2 million toward a full project vision of roughly $51 million.

Every commemorative brick purchased today is a small act of faith in tomorrow. It says: this matters enough to build for people who have not been born yet.

Our nonprofit status is still being finalized, and once it is complete, gifts will become tax-deductible. Until then, every pledge made is an honest expression of support — a handshake across time with the Southwest Missouri of 2126.

What We Leave Behind

A hundred years is a long time. Longer than most of our lives, longer than memory itself for many families. But some things are worth building for a hundred years from now — a flag that reminds a tired traveler of home, a gathering ground where a grieving family finds comfort, a place where a young person learns what it means to be American.

That is what Old Glory Rising can mean in 2126: not just a monument, but a promise kept.

If this vision speaks to your heart, there is a simple way to be part of it today. Pledge Your Brick and help lay the foundation for a hundred years of pride, remembrance, and hope in the Ozarks.
