Building Something Your Grandchildren Will Visit

There's a particular kind of pride that comes from pointing at something on the horizon and saying, "I helped build that." Not a photograph. Not a story passed down secondhand. A real place your grandchildren can walk into, touch, and carry with them long after you're gone.

A Monument Meant to Outlast Us

Old Glory Rising is a community effort to raise a 700-foot American flag monument in the hills of Southwest Missouri — the tallest of its kind in the world. It will rise over the Ozarks as a landmark visible for miles, a permanent reminder of what this country stands for.

But the vision doesn't stop at the flagpole. Surrounding the monument will be a community center and gathering grounds, a place designed for reunions, ceremonies, Fourth of July celebrations, and quiet family visits for decades to come.

Why Permanence Matters

We live in a world of things that disappear — posts that scroll away, trends that fade, buildings that get torn down and rebuilt every generation. A monument like this is different. It's built to stand through your lifetime and your grandchildren's lifetime.

That permanence is the point. When a child stands at the base of a 700-foot flag someday and asks, "Who built this?" the answer will be: regular families, veterans, neighbors, and communities who believed it mattered enough to make it happen.

A flag that tall isn't just seen from the road. It's seen from the next generation looking back.

How a Family Becomes Part of the Story

You don't have to be wealthy or famous to leave your name on something this big. One of the simplest ways to be part of it is through a commemorative brick, laid permanently into the gathering grounds.

  • Commemorative bricks are available for $250 each
  • Each brick becomes a lasting part of the monument grounds
  • Families, veterans, and supporters can honor a name, a unit, or a legacy
  • Every brick helps move the project toward its funding goals

It's a small gesture with a long reach — something a grandchild can find decades from now and know their family helped build it.

The Scale of What We're Building

Honesty matters here, because a project like this deserves clear eyes. The full vision for Old Glory Rising is estimated at roughly $51 million, covering the monument, the community center, and the surrounding grounds.

Phase 1 — the foundational work needed to get this project moving — carries a goal of $2 million. Every brick, every pledge, every contribution brings that first phase closer to reality.

We also want to be transparent: our nonprofit status is still being finalized. Right now, pledges of support are exactly that — expressions of support for the vision. Tax-deductibility will apply once that nonprofit status is officially finalized.

Something Worth Handing Down

Most of what we build in life gets used up, sold, or forgotten. A monument is different. It asks nothing of the people who visit it except that they remember.

Imagine your grandchild, years from now, standing beneath that enormous flag with their own children, pointing up and saying your name. That's not a small thing. That's a legacy with a foundation under it.

Southwest Missouri's hills were chosen because they offer the space, the sightlines, and the heart to carry a monument of this size — a gathering place rooted in the Ozarks but meant for every American family who wants to be part of something lasting.

If you're ready to be part of the story your family tells for generations, there's a simple way to start. Reserve Your Brick and help lay the foundation for something your grandchildren will visit.
